The 21st century has witnessed a wave of severe infectious disease outbreaks, having devastating impact on lives around the globe1.
Glaring examples include SARS-CoV outbreak, swine flu pandemic, MERS-CoV outbreak, Ebola, and Zika virus disease epidemic, and most recently COVID-19 pandemic1.
